Terms of Service

Last updated: August 10, 2026

These terms describe the basic rules for using RefAnchor, the Chrome extension, the website, and its subscription plans.

Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of account information and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You may not share an account or use another person's account without permission. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

Free and paid plans

RefAnchor may offer anonymous access, free account credits, and paid Starter or Plus subscriptions. Credit amounts, plan features, and prices are shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Monthly credits reset each billing period and do not roll over unless the pricing page says otherwise.

Billing and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. A subscription renews according to the plan selected at checkout until cancelled. You can manage payment methods and cancellation through the account page or Stripe Billing Portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the checkout or applicable law provides otherwise. Refund requests can be sent to our support email and will be handled according to applicable law and the payment provider's rules.

Your content and results

You retain responsibility for the text and URLs you submit and must have the right to use them. RefAnchor provides search and matching results as an aid to review; you remain responsible for evaluating sources, accuracy, and how you use the results.

Acceptable use

Do not use RefAnchor to violate law or third-party rights, bypass access controls or paywalls, interfere with the service, send abusive automated traffic, or attempt to access another user's data. We may limit or suspend access when necessary to protect users, providers, or the service.

Service availability

RefAnchor may change, suspend, or discontinue features, including source retrieval providers and credit rules. The service is provided as available, and search results may be incomplete or unavailable when a source blocks access, changes, or cannot be retrieved.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product or law changes. Continued use after an updated version is posted means you accept the updated terms, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
